Artisanal Alchemy: Ozma of California, Knitwear Evolution
As Lead Yarn Development Specialist for Ozma of California's knitwear collections, I led a transformative approach to elevated essentials through fiber curation and technical innovation. By synthesizing California's effortless aesthetic with artisanal yarn development, I created a distinctive textile narrative that balanced luxury with sustainability.
My immersive process included extensive field work in Peru, where I collaborated directly with multiple tallers to develop styles from sketch & execute fits. These on-site partnerships fostered authentic relationships with master artisans and technical specialists, allowing me to harness generations of textile wisdom while implementing contemporary production standards.
Working at the intersection of technical expertise and creative vision, I translated seasonal design concepts into tangible fiber stories—incorporating natural dye techniques, innovative spinning methods, and responsibly-sourced materials from these Peruvian partners.
